this day...

I will send out love

that flows from a source

deep within 

the origin not my own 

and because the source 

that flows out and through me 

is never ending 

I can always offer love

regardless of the circumstances

God, forgive me for all the exhausting effort I waste on doing what is only Yours to do

I release out of my body, mind and spirit the need to make things 'work' for everyone 

and I rest in the fact that you simply call me to love what You are working together for good

the joy of your salvation 

and grant me 

a willing spirit to sustain me

how hard the human heart can become 

when it is not in tune 

with the heart of God

God, I am easily distracted 

by ‘the standards and fashions 

of this present age’

teach me to ‘pray without ceasing’ 

(1 Thess. 5:17)

and to live my life 

ready to respond 

to whatever You say 

and however You move

today, 

as I wrestle with the difficult emotions 

that some experiences stir, 

I take comfort from the fact 

that Jesus experienced the same thing

He understands my feelings 

and is able to help me 

on my journey towards healing

Jesus,

you patiently show me

your truth in my everyday

always teaching and preparing me

for the work you are doing

and though I may only see glimpses

of your truth as I seek your wisdom 

I will continue seeking 

to the best of my ability,

to better understand

what/how you have for me to do today

I will take responsibility 

for the cause and effect 

of all I do and say 

because I can

and because it matters 

___

I yield to You my ears and eyes

to hear and to see 

what You hear and see

I yield my mind and my heart

to think and to feel 

what You do

may I do Your will always

God, 

I yield my tongue to You

to speak when You say speak, 

and to be silent when You tell me to hold silence

(and my need to control it)

Lord Jesus, 

I never want to reject You 

or Your ways

fill me with Your Holy Spirit 

so that my heart and mind 

remain open to You

knowing You are enough

so that I don't have to be

to accomplish the work

and would You shape me

I may not have a room,

but perhaps I have a meal to share

I may not feel wealthy,

but perhaps I have time to give

I may not know how to

carry out my work with joy,

but I have an invitation

to partner with God

and His people

because I can always choose 

to love what is made

and delared good 

in someone's SELF 

I will offer my creative best

help me desire Your good -

remind me of what You call good

and show me the good work You have for me to do

thank you for the people that help me better understand (and practice) all that is good

and lead me in the way that compels me to offer my creative best in response

being true to You, in every way

Jesus, [in my PERSONHOOD]

help me to give myself away to others, being kind to everyone I meet
