Mentoring Program

for Private English Teachers (Asynchronous Course)

Course Objectives:

This course aims at helping teachers become more autonomous when running their businesses and planning courses. It will also improve their language awareness and development, as well as encourage reflection on theoretical features of methodology in English Language Teaching in order to provide their students with better Language Solutions, academically and professionally speaking.

Course Format:

The course consists of sessions (either in Portuguese or in English) aiming at helping teachers understand and discuss theoretical background of several areas in ELT and Business Administration, where the tutor and participants will analyze features and problems, out of which Lessons or Business Action Plans will be devised accordingly.
Participants then carry out tasks asynchronously on areas which need improvement and receive feedback from the tutor.

How long is the course?

9 asynchronous biweekly recorded sessions of up to 60 minutes
Around 10 asynchronous biweekly online assignments - Delivered via Google Classroom
Recordings are delivered via Google Classroom
1 synchronous live online meetings of 60 minutes - via Google Meet - Date to be defined
NB.: The purpose of this session is to offer participants a chance to practice language seen in the recordings and solve doubts

Course Materials

All the slides and worksheets used during the course will be provided by Out of the Box for the course participants free of charge.

Course Tutor

Rodrigo Sigoli has been in English Language Teaching since 2006, as an English Teacher, Teacher Trainer, Conference Speaker, Director of Studies and CELT-P/S Tutor.

Having worked for well-renowned schools in the São Paulo state, both as an English Teacher and Academic Coordinator, he has also been a Cambridge Assessment English Speaking Examiner since 2012 for Main Suite and YLE (CEFR levels Pre-A1 to C2).

Besides his degree in Languages, he has been awarded multiple certifications by Cambridge Assessment English: the C2 Proficiency, the BULATS, the CELTA, as well as the Train the Trainer.

Technical Requirements

Every course participant must have:

A desktop or laptop computer connected to a high-speed internet connection, equipped with a camera and microphone;
A Gmail account is required to have access to Google Classroom;
3G and 4G connections, as well as the use of phones and tablets are not recommended.
