General English Course

How long is the course?

This is an 80-hour, 2-semester course aiming at helping English teachers develop their level of English moving from CEFR B1 (Intermediate) towards B2 (Upper-Intermediate)

Module 1: July - December 2023 (40 hours - 2 hours a week)
Module 2: February - June 2024 (40 hours - 2 hours a week)

1 weekly online session of 120 minutes – via Google Meet

NB.: This is NOT an exam prep course.

This course is for you if…

… you have studied English for approximately 350-400 hours and have an Intermediate (CEFR B1) level of the language (find out here);
… would like to keep on developing your level of English without necessarily preparing for an exam (This is NOT an exam prep course);
… you would like to develop your level of English to have better professional and academic opportunities.

What will I learn?

Participants will be exposed to content which is focused on Language Development via expansion of key vocabulary and advanced grammatical structures.
Participants will also undergo real-life communication situations, which, allied to the feedback of an experienced tutor, will help them develop their Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening Skills, as well as Grammar and Vocabulary.

Course Tutor

Gustavo Martins has been in ELT since 2014. Multiple times certified by Cambridge English (including the CELTA), he also holds a degree in Foreign Trade and has worked previously with Business English and as an Academic Coordinator. He has extensive experience in working with teenagers, adults and exam prep in a variety of contexts.

Technical Requirements

Every course participant must have:

A desktop or laptop computer connected to a high-speed internet connection, equipped with a camera and microphone;
A Gmail account is required to have access to Google Classroom;
3G and 4G connections, as well as the use of phones and tablets are not recommended.

Additional Information

Groups will be formed by a minimum of 3 participants and a maximum of 10;
Materials need to be purchased and won't be offered in PDF formats;
Sessions will be recorded and made available to participants for up to a week via Google Classroom;
