Discover the hidden world of lichens and fungi on a winter walk at Terrace Mountain with biologist Katherine Flores!
Lichens are a symbiosis of fungi and green algae and/or cyanobacteria. The lichen symbiosis has been described as fungal agriculture! This session for a lichen-centric interpretive walk, a family-friendly outing is perfect for all ages and experience levels. Together, we’ll uncover how these fascinating organisms thrive in the winter landscape, learning about their unique roles in nature and the secrets they hold.
Dress warmly for this immersive experience, as we explore the beauty and science of lichens and fungi in their natural habitat. It’s a chance to connect with nature and see the winter world in a whole new way!
