About this activity
Whether it be around the campfire or in front of an auditorium of people, the ability to tell a great story and hold an audience captivated is a skill not many are born with. But - luckily for us all, it's a skill that can be learned and honed with practice.
In this Storytelling workshop, we will learn how to break down story structure, beyond just a "beginning, middle and end", diving deeper into what makes a story truly compelling to listen to. We'll also discuss presentation and how to improve our delivery to keep others hanging on our every word.
Hopefully by the end, we'll all be well on our way to becoming amazing storytellers.
/ Char Normandeau, radio host
Born and raised in Terrace, BC, Char Normandeau spent years away from home crafting her storytelling skills, working for years as a radio announcer in various markets across Western Canada.
Graduating in 2008 with a Radio Broadcasting diploma from SAIT, and currently in her final Term in the Video Production diploma program at the Toronto Film School online, Char is passionate about communication and her community, and takes up the mic every morning at CFNR radio, broadcasting out of Terrace to more than 82 communities in BC.
When she's not on the radio, you can find her at home with her four Yorkshire Terrier dogs, or travelling the world with her husband who came here from Estonia (Yes it's a real place!).
