By The Hillcrest Globe A.V.
Cubic Died on October 20th, 2022, now this is a holiday called, "National Cubic Day" On October 20 2022 we are sorry to inform the hillcrest community that Cubic is dead. Susan Wineberg said that Cubic was not eating for 2 weeks that is really rare because Cubic always eats whenever she try's to feed him. Then on Monday he was looking lifeless and did not want to be around many people. On Tuesday he was looking better and was happy to be around people. On Wednesday he was not doing anything he was lifeless and he would keep opening and closing his mouth in a weird way. Susan said she was going to take Cubic to the vet but it was to late. The next day Cubic was found dead in his cage. For this unfortunate incident we are make this day Cubic Day on October 20. There will also be a funeral at 2:40 PM today.
We all love Cubic so, we're going to have a funeral for Cubic at 2:40 PM today like it says in the "About Cubic" Area to the right. If you have any questions about the funeral then, tell us in the chat below.
In 2018 in the after school spanish class kids tried to get Cubic but he when into a cabinet. Everyone gave up hope and 3 months later he slithered out and he took a 3 minute water break and he was back to normal. Ms Weinburg tells us, ""One time I was teaching my class, it was math class and it was the coldest day of the year. All the kids went crazy and I tried to calm them down. Then I turned around and saw Cubic slithering on the ground." Cubic has been super useful for learning and was a calm and kind pet. Lots of kids miss him, and lots of kids had a great time playing with him. "He never scared anyone." Says Ms Weinburg. To learn more about this go to the main cubic website Just Click Here
(On The website it will tell you cubic's story and other information you need to know.)

Book Of The Week
By Theo B.
The book of the week is Class act. This is a sequel from New Kid. New Kid got the Newbery Award it was the first graphic novel to ever receive that reward. The author was invited to texas to go to a school and show his book. But then Texas changed their mind because it said things about black and brown folks that they didn't like. New Kid is a great book for ages 7-12. We would recommend this book to young readers that like graphic novels. Class Act is a well written book that we think the author did a good job writing. You should read both books if you haven't already.
