Several Hillcrest students have been caught using their phones when they are not supposed to, such as during class or in the school hallways. Some students have even filmed their activities and posted them on social media platforms, despite school policies prohibiting such behavior.
This has caused concern among teachers, administrators, and parents because it violates school rules and threatens safety risks. School teachers have reminded students of the importance of following school policies and respecting others' privacy.
We encourage parents to talk to their children about the responsible use of technology and how to monitor their social media activity to ensure they are not threatening any school policies or rules.
This problem is making many people feel unsafe because a few of the films have had random kids or teachers in the schoolyard or in the hallways. Right now no phones are allowed out from 8:30-2:50, or on Wednesday/minimum days: 8:30-1:30.
