This session is intended for teachers who have not had previous SIPPS training (Beginning, Extension, Challenge, & Plus). This session will build their knowledge of the Science of Reading and help them understand the overall arc and instructional delivery of a SIPPS lesson. This session will guide teachers in a step by step in depth unpacking process to internalize the 2025 Edition of Module 3. We will include in our unpacking and planning all components: the new core Module units and assessments, and the adjoining Unlock ELD. Teachers will come away with a big picture understanding of the goals of the Module from the Standards to the targets, and the overall arc of the Module from lesson to lesson. We will meet in grade level groups, so that teachers will get to unpack and plan with colleagues teaching Module 3 in the same grade level.

This session guides teachers through a full backward planning cycle using Eureka Math² CEAs, i-Ready, and student work to design that center reasoning, discourse, and access. Educators will analyze evidence of student thinking, identify misconceptions, and plan differentiated instruction to accelerate learning. Join us and get officially trained on OUSD’s PTHV model that focuses on: Relational connection, Building capacity of families, and staff for partnership, Collaboration, and is Linked to student learning. Session Outcomes: Teachers will 1) explore core values and equity mindset necessary to conduct home visits, 2) understand the conditions for successful home visits (and fidelity with the PTHV model), 3) understand the three components to a successful home visit, 4) practice making the initial call to schedule a home visit, and 5) share hopes and anxieties with conducting home visits
