Below is a message from Jenn Blake, Network Administrator for Special Education
Hello, Nonpublic School Partners:
I hope that this message finds you all doing well and excited for another school year! My name is Jenn Blake, and I am the Network Administrator who will be supporting our district's NPS Team this year. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share some information about our department structures and procedures this year.
Over the Summer months, our department underwent some reorganization. By now, you should have received an introductory message from the NPS Case Manager supporting Oakland students placed at your school; Amy Arroyo and Jim Pierce have returned as full-time team members, Richard Friedman is joining us half-time after years as a Program Specialist, and Kamila Flores will be working three days a week this year (T, W, Th). Our new Executive Administrative Assistant for the department is LaTanya Smith.
We have changed our Behavior Incident Reporting process, which includes a standard OUSD form. You are welcome to use your own form as long as it contains the same content, particularly indicating whether the student has a BIP that addresses the behavior leading to the incident. Please see the OUSD form entitled "OUSD Behavior IR" under the "Start Here" section of this website.
In the "Start Here" section, you'll also find the following documents:
We are happy to invite your staff to our Professional Development opportunities this year should they find themselves in need of PD in the areas of IEP compliance, assessment, behavior or trauma-informed instruction. I will send out related opportunities as they become finalized.
I look forward to working with you, and if I can be of support as you get the school year up and running, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you!
~Jenn Blake (dated 8/28/2017)
