Through small acts of kindness, we can warm hearts, help people journey home, and end homelessness.
Warm Hearts Day is inspired by Rebecca Elliot’s best selling Owl Diaries series. In this feel good children’s series, Twinklewings could only get home if the forest animals’ hearts were warm enough to carry her there. The diverse characters who live in Treetopolis get together every winter on Warm Hearts Day to celebrate Twinklewing’s journey home, and to remember how important it is to be kind to one another.
Warm Hearts Day in Kingston, Ontario Canada is organized by Our Livable Solutions.
Community Friends in Motion, a volunteer organization which brings food to encampments throughout Kingston, has offered to assist in the distribution of items intended to be given directly to people without homes, such as Valentine’s cards or treats.
First year Queen’s medical students (QMed ‘28) will be providing volunteer support where needed. Quantum Renewable Energy will provide logistical support for deliveries.
