School will finish at 1.00pm on Friday 26 June for the summer holidays. We would like to wish all staff, pupils and their families a relaxing and well-deserved break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 17 August 2026.

WDC Summer Activities

FREE swimming lessons: Thanks to funding from the Summer of Sport Fund, we are able to provide free swimming lessons for young people aged 13–21 years.

Explore the Summer Shine 2026 programme for children and young people across West Dunbartonshire.

WD Leisure Centres: West Dunbartonshire’s Summer Holiday Programme (runs late June through mid-August) offers free youth gym sessions (12pm–4pm) and free swimming for pupils with a valid Leisure Card.

As the weather gets warmer and families spend more time outdoors, we would like to remind everyone about the importance of staying safe around water.

Reservoirs, lakes, rivers, and other open water locations can be dangerous, even on warm days. Water temperatures can remain very cold, strong currents may be hidden below the surface, and steep banks or slippery edges can make it difficult to get out of the water.

If you find yourself in difficulty in the water, remember to Float to Live: tilt your head back, relax, and float until you can control your breathing and call for help.

The production was an absolute joy to watch from start to finish. The cast were outstanding, bringing so much energy, emotion, and personality to their roles. Every performer played their part brilliantly, and you could really see how well they worked together.

One of the highlights was definitely Olaf, who was simply adorable and incredibly funny throughout. Olaf's moments had the audience laughing out loud, and her charm added a perfect touch of light-hearted humour to the show.

Overall, it was a fantastic performance, full of talent and heart. The combination of a brilliant cast and those unforgettable Frozen songs made it a truly enjoyable experience. While it's sad that it's all over for another year, this year's production has certainly left us with wonderful memories and plenty to look forward to when the next show comes around.

On 10 June, Clydebank High School proudly celebrated the achievements of our S1–S3 pupils at our BGE Awards ceremony. The event recognised the hard work, dedication and positive attitudes shown by our learners throughout the year, with awards presented for merits, commitment, excellence and attendance. It was fantastic to see so many young people being acknowledged for their resilience, determination and enthusiasm for learning. We are incredibly proud of all our pupils who continue to strive to be the best version of themselves—well done to everyone who was recognised!

Clydebank High School’s S6 Prom, held at the elegant Coats in Paisley, was a truly memorable evening for the Class of 2026. Pupils and teachers alike enjoyed a fantastic hot buffet with a wide range of choices, setting the tone for a night of celebration. All of the pupils looked absolutely stunning, and it was clear that everyone was embracing this special occasion.

The dance floor was full all night, with both pupils and staff joining in, especially Ruaraidh King, who deserves a big shout out for never leaving it!

The highlight of the evening also included the crowning of Prom King 2026 Jamie Wilson and Prom Queen 2026 Rosie Dorman. The event was a great success, and it was wonderful to see our young people celebrating together and creating lasting memories. A sincere thank you goes to all staff who attended and supported the event, as your presence helped make the evening even more special for our Class of 2026.

At Clydebank High School’s Sports Awards, which took place on Friday, we proudly celebrated the outstanding effort, dedication and talent shown by our pupils across a wide range of activities.

From the excitement of Sports Day to the commitment displayed in football, basketball, netball, cross country, volleyball and badminton, our pupils demonstrated teamwork, resilience and passion throughout the year. We also recognised exceptional achievements in swimming, dance and gymnastics, where creativity and discipline truly shone.

A special congratulations was given to our Players of the Year and our Coaches of the Year, whose leadership and encouragement inspired success both on and off the field. We were equally delighted to honour those who achieved sporting success outside of school, representing Clydebank with pride in their communities and beyond. To maintain a focused, distraction free learning environment, we operate a strict no phones policy in the classroom. Pupils are expected to keep mobile phones in their bags or in the designated box at all times. If a phone is seen or heard, the following steps will be enforced without discussion or exception: the phone will be placed in the tray, the pupil will be asked to stand outside and receive a mobile phone demerit, and the incident will be escalated to a member of the Senior Leadership Team if necessary.

We are delighted to announce that our school has recently achieved the Silver Rights Respecting School Award. This marks an important step forward from our previous Bronze status and reflects the strong commitment of our whole school community to promoting children’s rights.

The award recognises the hard work and dedication of our pupils and staff in embedding the values of respect, dignity and equality into everyday school life.

As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to wish all pupils the very best of luck as they receive their Qualifications Scotland results.

Pupils can look forward to results day on Tuesday, 4 August 2026. To receive your results as quickly as possible, you can sign up for the My Qualifications Scotland service and choose to have your results sent by email, text message, or both. Your official Qualifications Scotland certificate will also be delivered by post on the same morning.

Finals Day took place on Wednesday 27th May and was a fantastic celebration of sport, effort and achievement. Pupils across S2, S3 and S4 competed at a high level, demonstrating excellent determination, skill and sportsmanship throughout the day. The standard of competition was impressive in all events, from track races to field events, making for an exciting and competitive atmosphere.

It was a great opportunity for finalists to showcase their hard work and talent, while classmates offered enthusiastic support from the sidelines. Well done to all who took part in what was a brilliant and memorable day.

For the third time, S6 pupil Daisy has been published in Paperboy Magazine, marking not only a personal milestone but the continued growth of a confident and thoughtful literary voice.

Made of Mistakes is a reflective piece that explores perfectionism, self-doubt, and the quiet pressure young people place on themselves. Through repetition and vivid imagery, Daisy charts a journey from fearing mistakes to recognising them as essential to growth.

What makes the piece especially compelling is its emotional honesty. Drawing on ideas such as wabi-sabi and kintsugi, Daisy blends personal experience with wider human philosophy, offering reassurance without preaching and vulnerability without self-pity.

To be published once is impressive; to be published three times speaks to commitment, talent, and a voice worth listening to. We want to wish Daisy the very best of luck in her future — she will be amazing at whatever she sets her mind to.

After consultation with our young people, we adapted our uniform policy to allow pupils to come to school in the summer term (April-June) wearing loose fitting black dress/chino shorts with their school shirt and tie.

Please note: - girls should NOT wear short tight fitting hot pant style shorts.

Our Primary 7 pupils enjoyed a fantastic two‑day transition experience this week, joining us from all of our feeder primary schools to follow a real S1 timetable. Over the two days, they visited a wide range of subjects, met new teachers, explored the school building, and got a real feel for what life will be like when they return as S1 pupils in August 2026. The enthusiasm, confidence, and curiosity they brought with them made the experience a great success, and we look forward to welcoming them back soon.
