Higher Course Descriptor
Please read the course descriptor opposite to find out the entry requirements and the content involved in the Higher PE course. The Higher course will also allow the pupils to opt into a team or aesthetic class.
Team: Badminton, basketball and football
Aesthetic: Dance, netball, trampolining/gymnastics
PERFORMANCE
If any pupil has a particular talent in a sport outwith school, and provided we as a department are confident that we have a suitable level of expertise, we can arrange for the young person to be assessed in their chosen activity.
Advanced Higher
PHYSICAL EDUCATION Adv Higher.docxAdvanced Higher is also on offer in the PE department . Advanced Higher consists of 5000 word project which requires a significant amount of time completing research on your chosen topic, this is 70% of the overall award. In addition to this pupils are required to complete a practical performance and this accounts for the final 30% of the overall award.
