School Improvement Plan
In June 2023, we collaboratively created our new vision for Learning, Teaching & Assessment: “High-quality, engaging learning experiences, driven by pupil voice, which nurture ambitious mind sets for all.”
Our Improvement Plan will help translate this aspirational vision into a sustainable reality through the following four priorities:
TO IMPROVE & SUPPORT THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF OUR LEARNERS.
TO ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE AND EQUITY AND CLOSE THE POVERTY RELATED ATTAINMENT GAP – AND HELP YOUNG PEOPLE TO ACHIEVE POSITIVE DESTINATIONS BEYOND SCHOOL
TO IMPROVE LEARNING, TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT – INCLUDING HOW AND WHAT WE TEACH AND LEARN
TO BUILD LEADERSHIP CAPACITY THROUGH A SELF IMPROVING SYSTEM AND COLLABORATION WITH OTHERS
How will we deliver these priorities?
Re-launch the high-quality use of Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) learning, teaching & assessment resource across the school to support our learners’ Health & Wellbeing. Introduce the tracking & monitoring of all learners’ Health & Wellbeing using the Glasgow Motivational Wellbeing Profile Tool (GMWP), create and embed an inclusive classroom approach through the CIRCLES framework and promote and foster positive, nurturing, relationships across our school.
Introduce & embed new robust tracking & monitoring procedures based upon a range of assessment strategies that provide valid & robust attainment data. Monitor, review and evaluate on a termly basis, staged intervention plans to ensure we are Getting it Right for Every Child and effectively support our families ensuring they have access to a range of external partners and support networks.
Introduce and embed new termly planning procedures with a particular focus on Curricular Benchmarks & Planning for Assessment. Monitor, review and evaluate the effectiveness of Play Pedagogy across Primary 1 and introduce and embed high-quality Project-based Learning & Interdisciplinary Learning with a focus on the creation of High-Quality Assessments for learners’ to demonstrate and apply their learning. This work will culminate in the creation of Clydemuir Primary’s Framework for Assessment by June 2024.
For all practitioners and school staff to be leaders of learning and drive school improvement through the Principles of Collegiately - Improvement Group Working. For all learners to become leaders of learning, take responsibility for their learning, create their own learning pathways and be able to discuss their learning. To further embed true pupil voice and involve all learners in our improvement journey - Learner Leadership Groups.
