Advancing entries must be digitally submitted to Council no later than Friday, March 27, 2026
Before scoring, please read the Final Project Submission Requirements (Section 5) of the Official PTA Science Fair Rules and Guidelines. (Consider the student’s grade level and/or ability)
Your Science Fair Chairperson will assign you one or more grade levels and send you a Scoring Spreadsheet.
In the Scoring Spreadsheet, you will find the following for each project:
Project Number (Blind Entry Code)
Grade Level
Project Title
Images of Presentation Boards
Student Video
Lab Notebook and Citations (Grades 6–8 only)
If anything appears to be missing or you need access, please email sciencefair@oucpta.org as soon as possible.
Please review each entry and provide a score based on:
Question (10 points)
Design (40 points)
Creativity (50 points)
Refer to the Scoring Rubric provided. Deductions may be made at your discretion if projects do not adhere to guidelines.
Enter your scores directly into the Scoring spreadsheet, or complete the printable scorecard and return it to your Science Fair Chairperson.

3rd Place
Orange Unified Council Judges Only: Please complete all judging by April 13, 2026 to allow us time to prepare certificates and awards.
Once you have finished scoring and selected your top entries, please email sciencefair@oucpta.org to confirm completion.
All other judges, please contact your Science Fair Chairperson to determine deadline.
