Literacy & Math

Reading:

Every day we will read a book with a teacher.

We are learning the sounds that each letter of the alphabet represents.

We are learning how to point to each word as we read.

We are learning to use the pictures to help us decode unknown words.

We are learning to instantly read the Magenta High Frequency words.

Writing:

Every day we will write a story in our books.

We are learning to correctly print all letters.

We are learning to neatly print our names.

We are learning to draw a picture that matches our story.

We are learning to tell the teacher what we want to write and copy carefully over or under the teachers writing.

Math:

Every day we practice counting both forwards and backwards.

We are learning to neatly print all numbers.

We are learning to count forwards and backwards, first to 10 and then to 20.

We are learning to correctly identify what numbers 0-20 look like.

We are learning how to order numbers from smallest to largest and largest to smallest.

We are learning how to make sets of numbers.
