The Bluesletter is for Ottawa Bluesfest Volunteers!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night! We had a great turn-out and even an appearance by the CHEO Bear! The training night is a time for volunteers new and old to meet and take a tour around the festival grounds. We started off with a welcome by festival founder and Executive Director, Mark Monahan. Ottawa Bluesfest has been around for over 30 years and he's been here for each and every festival! We had a short visit by Steve Reed, CEO and President of the CHEO Foundation, and the official mascot! Your volunteer services team, Keanna, Hannah, and Jamine, gave the announcements about the volunteer code of conduct, our deal with OC Transpo, and how to get to Volunteer Village!

The site is still being set up so please watch your step and be mindful of any heavy equipment operating in your area. We are doing our best to complete the site in time for opening later today but there's still a lot to do! The first couple of days of the festival are always a bit tricky as we get everything in place after getting access to the site after Canada Day and other festivities!

Over on the island, Volunteer Village is where you to go to check in and visit our dedicated food vendor, Lokma.
