Veterans Day Poem

On Veterans Day we honor all,

Who answered to a service call.

Soldiers young, and soldiers old.

Fought freedom, brave and bold,

And all of the deserve our pride.

We’re proud of all the soldiers who,

Kept thinking of red, white, and blue.

They fought for us and all our rights.

They fought through many days and nights

And though we may not know each name,

We thank ALL veterans just the same

It is the VETERAN

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us freedom of assembly

It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote

It is the VETERAN who salutes the flag,
Who served under the flag.

Who gave his oath to support and defend
The Constitution and our Nation
Against all enemies, Foreign and Domestic

It is the VETERAN,
Willing to give his life to protect your freedoms and mine.
Whose coffin is draped by the flag,

And, It is the Veteran who leaves no man behind.

Veterans Day Video Script

Veteran’s Day was originally created to honor a specific day in U.S. and world history. We celebrate this day on November 11, which is forever known as the day World War I ended, back in 1918. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed this day a national holiday over 100 years ago.

On Veterans Day, we pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the men and women who, in defense of our freedom, have bravely worn the uniform of the United States. From the fields and forests of war-torn Europe to the jungles of Southeast Asia, from the deserts of Iraq to the mountains of Afghanistan, brave patriots have protected our nation’s ideals, rescued millions from tyranny, and helped spread freedom around the globe.

America’s veterans answered the call when asked to protect our nation from some of the most brutal and ruthless tyrants, terrorists and militaries the world has ever known. They stood tall in the face of grave danger and enabled our nation to become the greatest force for freedom in human history.

Our country is forever indebted to our veterans for their quiet courage and exemplary service. We also remember and honor those who laid down their lives in freedom’s defense. These brave men and women made the ultimate sacrifice for our benefit. On Veteran’s Day we remember these heroes for their valor, their loyalty, and their dedication. Their selfless sacrifices continue to inspire us today as we work to advance peace and extend freedom around the world. May we always be humbly grateful to those brave American patriots who suffered and sacrificed for the freedom of all Americans.

For those soldiers who have stood guard in peacetime and to those who have seen the terror, the horror and inhumanity of combat, and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Let it be said that our soldiers have been there for America, defending the Constitution of the United States. To all our veterans, we have yet a simple, heartfelt message. . . THANK YOU. Thank you for your unwavering service in peacetime and war, here in this nation, and throughout the world.

Veterans have sought neither fortune nor fame. It was merely a simple love of America and the freedoms we all cherish so much. Soldiers know what it is like, to stand guard, in the chill of the night while others sleep. They understand the meaning of hardship, standing watch at freedom’s frontier far from loved ones. It is this devotion to duty that gives us all strength.

Looking out on the world, we see our soldiers serving in over 100 countries, and the legacy of our veterans continues to inspire our American soldiers today to answer the call of duty.

It is with great pride that we look at our Veterans here with us today and remember all those that are no longer with us and simply say thank you. Thank you for your service to others, your courage and your bravery. Thank you for standing tall in the face of danger and for putting the needs of others ahead of your own. We are forever indebted to each and everyone of you.
