My name is Brent Cunningham and I have been a teacher in the Ocean Township School District since the 2013 - 2014 school year. I spent my first three years in second grade and this is my tenth year as a sixth grade teacher. I graduated from Kean University in Spring of 2013 after completing my Junior Field Experience and Student Teaching right here in Waretown. Very shortly after that I was offered the dream job I have right now! I've used every day since that time to try to give some of that excitement back to the students and classrooms here in our town!

I have been a firefighter in Waretown since 2004 and have served as the Chief of the department from 2016 until 2021. Additionally, I work as a Deputy Fire Marshal for Ocean County as a Fire Instructor at the Ocean County Fire Academy. More than anything, I love to teach and help to open the universe up to all students.

The students make each day in class the best it can possibly be and I have always built this class around our guiding principles; to leave each day better than the day before and with more knowledge walking out than we had walking in.
