Welcome to Humanities 9A. My name is Ms Lees, or Whaea Valerie if you wish, and I will be your Humanities Teacher for 2024. I also teach Social Sciences 10A, English L1, and HSS L1 (Humanities & Social Sciences L1)
What is Humanities? Humanities is one of your core classes and includes both English (reading, writing, viewing, speaking, presenting) and Social Sciences (history, current events, geography, research) skills. At ŌC students are in Humanities to help with transitioning to college life and routines, and because the skills used in both classes are similar.
I will be your Humanities teacher, Hauora (Health and Well-being - once a week) and Kairahi (form class) teacher. This means we will see each every day for 1 or 2 classes!
