Please note that all timings are listed below. Some timings will vary depending on the time of year. For a definite list of timings, please see the Home Page [above]. The timings for the club will be there.
The below timings are based on our standard Summer template.
The children have supervised free play, with access to a range of activities and toys within the OsClub base room. Weather permitting, we might have activities and games going on outside. This is a relaxed way for the children to begin the day.
Os-Sport is an active way to start the day! It offers a varied, active and fun morning, delivered by our team of sports coaches and teachers. The sports we offer are varied and many, and we will often attempt to give the children a degree of choice over the sports we engage in. We are also aware that the Shropshire weather may have other ideas about our intended plan, so flexibility is key. This is a structured session, which will focus around key coaching points in order for the children to improve their game, followed by a short match or game to round off the session.
Os-Make allows children to get creative! We focus on a variety of activities, with a useful and vocational twist! This might include journalism, story writing, cooking, drama, design, art, music and more. Each session will be run by one of our in house teaching staff, who will ensure that each child gains something out of their time. It is a great way to learn new skills and to enjoy getting creative!
Because we all need a break! The children return to OsClub base, where they get a morning snack (usually a variety of fruit choices) and a chance to re hydrate.
Some children can't get enough sport! For those who want to, they can return to the playing fields or Sports Hall to take part in another sport session. Alternatively, if they fancy a break from the art room or music block, they can take up a tennis racket or learn to line up the perfect free kick.
The second session will always be different to the first!
You can never quite get enough baking done in one sitting! If you find that's the case, then another visit to Os-Make will work wonders. Depending on how long a project we have embarked on, this might be a chance to finish off a piece of work begun in the first session, or alternatively we might be taking on something completely new!
The staff's favourite part of the day! Depending on the time of year, a hot lunch is served in our dining hall, which will be undergoing an extensive extension and make over across the summer months of 2017! There is also pudding and a variety of fruit. The lunches are exciting and age appropriate, as well as being dietary and nutritionally balanced. They are prepared on site by our in house catering team.
During holidays where onsite catering is unavailable, children will be asked to bring a packed lunch. This will be noted on our home page.
After lunch, we return to the OsClub base where the children have some down time; a chance to relax, play some games or watch a film!
This sounds broad and encompassing, because it is! We try to arrange this session to encompass all the children, and the sessions consistency will depend on the mood and group of the day. Again, weather is a factor as well. Examples of what could happen are treasure hunts, survival skills, walks, games, matches and much more.
This is a free swim in our onsite pool. The pool is 20m long and has a deep end, which is why we ask for your child's swimming ability upon sign up. Any new children will be asked to display their swimming skills in an informal, relaxed manner by our lifeguards. The children have access to a number of floats, toys and other things to entertain them. The session is monitored at all times by our trained lifeguarding team.
The day is drawing towards its end, so we begin to wind down. After swimming, the children return to the OsClub room where they have a small afternoon tea (usually a small sandwich, cake and drink) whilst relaxing. The day will end with the children leading the choices, with popular options being hide and seek (the staff's favourite!), football games and finishing off those unfinished craft pieces!
