Hi! My name is Allison Peters (Yarrow). I am a 4th grade gifted education teacher with 25 years of teaching experience. I am originally from Hattiesburg, MS. After receiving my elementary education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, I taught grades 1st-3rd for nine years. Once I received my Master's Degree in Gifted education, I began teaching grades 4th and 5th (gifted), which is what I am doing currently.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been a member of many educational organizations-MAGC, NAGC, MECA, etc. I have presented locally and at state conferences, been a coordinator for Gifted/STEM summer camps, been selected into the Phil Mickelson Exxon Teacher Academy and am now beginning my journey as a Fulbright TGC recipient.
Although I have been teaching "a while", I still consider myself to be a life long learner. I love to challenge myself and try new things. Throughout my own global education experiences with Fulbright, I have created a new career goal which is to provide global learning opportunities and experiences to my students so that they can connect with the world.
