Author Guidelines for the Osmania Journal of Social Sciences (OJSS)

Submission Requirements

Manuscript Submission: Authors should submit their manuscripts electronically via the journal’s submission portal. Manuscripts must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

Originality: All submissions must be original works and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English.

Manuscript Preparation

Title Page:

Title of the manuscript

Full names of all authors

Institutional affiliations

Corresponding author’s contact information (email address and phone number)

Acknowledgements and funding sources (if any)

Abstract:

The abstract should be between 150-250 words.

It should provide a concise summary of the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

Keywords:

Include 4-6 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.

Main Text:

Structure: The manuscript should generally follow this structure: Introduction, Literature Review, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

Headings: Use appropriate headings and subheadings to organize the content. Headings should follow APA 7th edition formatting.

Font and Spacing: Use 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spacing throughout the manuscript, and 1-inch margins on all sides.

Indentation: The first line of each paragraph should be indented 0.5 inches.

Citations and References:

In-text Citations: Follow APA 7th edition guidelines for in-text citations

(e.g., (Smith, 2020) or (Smith & Jones, 2020)).

Reference List: Include a complete list of references at the end of the manuscript, formatted in APA 7th edition style. Ensure that all in-text citations have corresponding entries in the reference list and vice versa.

Figures and Tables

Placement: Place figures and tables within the text at appropriate points, not at the end of the manuscript.

Numbering: Number all figures and tables consecutively as they appear in the text (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).

Titles and Captions: Provide a concise title for each table and figure. Include descriptive captions that explain the content.

Formatting: Ensure figures and tables are clear and legible, following APA 7th edition guidelines.

Ethical Considerations:

Plagiarism: The journal has a 10%-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. All manuscripts will be checked for originality.

Ethical Approval: For studies involving human participants, authors must include a statement confirming that ethical approval was obtained, and participants provided informed consent.

Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that might influence the research or interpretation of results.

Review Process:

Peer Review: All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Authors should ensure that their manuscripts are anonymized, removing any identifying information.

Revisions: Based on reviewer feedback, authors may be required to make revisions. Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted within the specified timeframe.

Open Access: OJSS is an open-access journal, providing free and immediate access to its contents to foster a greater global exchange of knowledge.
