Philosophy of Education

It is important to believe in every child and look for individual strengths. View a child's learning style as a strength and opportunity to scaffold all types of learning. View each student as a contributor and important member in the classroom community. Empower and inspire. Show your students how they know. Love every child. Help your students to become proud owners of their successes. Most importantly, students need to know that failures are not failures, but opportunities for new learning.

All About Me

Growing Up

I am originally from Idaho Falls, Idaho. I grew up in a family of two brothers and two sister. Being the middle child gave me the gifts of patience, humor, and generosity. My parents taught me to never give up and to always have a great work ethic. Most importantly, they taught me to respect myself and treat others with respect.

I am a teacher at Mission Elementary. I have been teaching kindergarten for 22 years. I am a reading specialist and have a masters in Literacy. I have two girls, a boy and my husband is a teacher and head football coach at El Camino High School.
