Hello Families,

As you probably heard, Oceanside School District made the difficult decision to go back to "Virtual" On-line learning 100% starting Monday December 14th due to rising COVID cases in our area. I know this is the safest thing to do, but I'm a little sad at the same time because it was great to have your children in the classroom again. I know if we all work together the best that we can, everything will be just fine. Once again, I thank you for your support with all you do at home as well as helping to guide your child's learning. I have 2 children at home as well, and it hasn't been easy that's for sure!

IMPORTANT: I was able to send home several supplies and curriculum items with the "B" group on Friday December 11th to better prepare them for Zoom class, like, a poetry book, journals, Go Math ch. 1, 2 and 3 and much more. PLEASE help them keep this close by during Zoom classes. I will ask them to take out books to do together as a class. I have asked them NOT to start anything just yet, these items are to be done together as I teach. "A" Group will be able to have the same items by coming to our distribution day on Wednesday December 18th from 8:30-10:30. If you want the supplies sooner, just email me and maybe I can work something out with the office, I will be teaching from my classroom next week.

SCHEDULE STARTING MONDAY DECEMBER 14th :

I thought I would remind you of our virtual schedule from the beginning of the year: Your child may be in a different group this time around.

8:45-10:00: Zoom with Mrs. Salgado (Monday-Friday)

10:00-10:30: snack break

SMALL GROUPS: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (No small groups on Wednesday) I will send an email with your child's small group time.

10:30-11:00 Group #1:

11:00-11;30 Group #2:

11:30-12:00 LUNCH

12:00-12:30 Group #3:

12:30-1:00: Group #4:

*While your child is in between small groups, they should be working on:

Seesaw activities (20 minutes)

ST math (20 minutes)

Benchmark Reading, Epic books, or books from home (20 minutes)

Others: I-Ready, Starfall etc.

If your child missed a day or 2 this week, please have them finish the I-Ready assessment for Reading and math; I was able to get most done in class. Please don't help with answers, just remind them to do their best! Let me know if you need help with this.

Como probablemente escuchó, el Distrito Escolar de Oceanside tomó la difícil decisión de volver al aprendizaje en línea "virtual" al 100% a partir del lunes 14 de diciembre debido al aumento de casos de COVID en nuestra área. Sé que esto es lo más seguro, pero estoy un poco triste al mismo tiempo porque fue genial tener a sus hijos en el salón de clases nuevamente. Sé que si todos trabajamos juntos lo mejor que podamos, todo estará bien. Una vez más, le agradezco su apoyo con todo lo que hace en casa y también por ayudar a guiar el aprendizaje de su hijo. También tengo 2 hijos en casa, ¡y no ha sido fácil, eso es seguro!

IMPORTANTE: Pude enviar a casa varios útiles y elementos del plan de estudios con el grupo "B" el viernes para prepararlos mejor para la clase de Zoom, como un libro de poesía, diarios, Go Math cap. 1, 2 y 3 y mucho más. POR FAVOR ayúdelos a mantener esto cerca durante las clases de Zoom. Les pediré que saquen libros para hacerlos juntos como clase. Les he pedido que NO comiencen nada todavía, estos elementos deben hacerse juntos mientras enseño. El grupo "A" podrá tener los mismos artículos al venir a nuestro día de distribución el miércoles 18 de diciembre. Aún no estoy seguro de la hora, el Sr. Chavarría nos avisará el lunes. Si desea los materiales antes, envíeme un correo electrónico y tal vez pueda arreglar algo con la oficina, estaré enseñando desde mi salón de clases la semana que viene.
