Advanced Manufacturing

Advanced Manufacturing uses technology to create products for people and businesses. Some related industries include: electronics, aerospace, fabrication metals, biotechnology and maritime.

Clean Energy

Clean Energy involves researching and applying energy solutions that help the environment. Jobs in this sector include, building/construction, electricians, engineers, HVAC installers and heavy equipment operators.

Healthcare

Health Care combines technology and empathy to help people stay healthy and get well. Jobs include doctors, nurses, medical assistants, home health aides, lab technicians, medical records technicians and social workers.

Information and Communication Technologies

Information and Communication Technologies, or ICT, is the sector that develops products and services in telecommunications, video gaming, cyber security and analyzing data. Jobs include software/app developers, computer support specialists, network administrators, computer programmers, graphic designers, web developers, and information security analysts.

Life Sciences

Life Sciences, or biotechnology, includes a variety of fields like medical devices, therapeutics and medication development. San Diego is ranked one of the top 5 Life Science regions in the US. Jobs in this sector include medical scientists, software/app developers, bio technicians, software developers, general/operational managers, customer service representatives, secretaries and inspectors/testers.
