Careers/Volunteer:
As a respite caregiver, you will play a crucial role in providing direct care and support to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
Personal care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of clients.
Assisting with daily life skills activities to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
Building social skills, fostering meaningful interactions and connections for our clients.
Developing behavior management skills, helping clients cope with various challenges.
Contributing to program development, ensuring our services remain tailored to our clients' needs.
This position presents an excellent entry point for individuals seeking to gain valuable experience and build fundamental skills and knowledge in working with a diverse range of Special Needs clients. You will have the opportunity to receive training under the guidance of an experienced respite supervisor.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Developmental Services or a relevant Post-secondary degree in the Development field.
Availability for day and afternoon shifts, including Mondays to Saturdays.
Experience in working with clients with Autism, ADHD, and Mental Health conditions.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Current Criminal Record Check.
Start Date: August 10th, 2023.
