  2. Identify the components of health-related fitness.

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  1. Actively engage in all areas of fitness testing
    • Cardiovascular Endurance (Mile, Pacer Test)
    • Muscular Strength and Endurance (Push-ups, Pull-ups, Plank)
  2. Identify areas of needed improvement from personal test results.

5th Grade____________________________________________________________________

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  1. Actively engage in all areas of fitness testing
    • Cardiovascular Endurance (Mile, Pacer Test)
    • Muscular Strength and Endurance (Push-ups, Pull-ups, Plank)
  2. Analyze results of fitness testing (pre and post), and develop a fitness plan to address ways to physical activity to enhance fitness.

Flag Football Unit

  1. Throw overhand using a mature pattern to a partner.
  2. Catch with reasonable accuracy from a partner.
  3. Combine movement concepts (direction, speed, agility) with skills in the game of invasion.

  2. Dribble with feet around a target.
  3. Pass and receive a ball, with feet, with a partner.
  4. Work cooperatively with others in small-sided games.

4th Grade____________________________________________________________________

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  1. Use a continuous running approach and kick a moving ball for accuracy.
  2. Dribble with feet in combination with other skills (passing, receiving and shooting).
  3. Recognize basic offensive and defensive strategies in small-sided games.
  4. Work cooperatively with others in the game of soccer.

Rollerblading Unit

  1. Balance in an upright position with stillness and control.
  2. Transfer weight from foot to foot with a sturdy base support while moving forward.
  3. Combine balance and weight transfer with movement concepts to move smoothly across the floor.
  4. Accept personal responsibility by using equipment and space appropriately.

4th Grade____________________________________________________________________

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  1. Transfer weight from foot to foot with a sturdy base support while moving forward.
  2. Combine balance and weight transfer with movement concepts to move smoothly across the floor at different speeds.
  3. Accept personal responsibility by using equipment and space appropriately.
  4. Work independently for extended periods of time.
