Dear Osceola Middle School Families,

My name is Amanda Meyer and I’m excited to be your Osceola Middle School Principal. It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! With each approaching school year, excitement and anticipation are abundant! We hope you are eager to send your child to Osceola Middle School because we are excited for your child to come to us to learn and grow as students and as people!

After last year, we know we can do anything we set our minds to. As a fellow parent, I know you are fortunate to send your child to a district in which each staff member truly cares about the academic achievement and social and emotional development of each and every student, and at OMS, that is especially true. I feel very lucky to have such an amazing team to help support each student. We continually work to improve how we serve our students, and we are looking forward to seeing your student(s) grow as learners and as people!

For 10 years, I was an English teacher at Osceola High School. In the classroom, the majority of my career was spent with juniors and seniors through Creative Writing, a variety of literature courses, and Advanced Placement Language and Composition. Among the many types of roles I had, coaching, track and field specifically, has always had a special place in my heart. In my role as principal, it is my goal to continue supporting, challenging, learning from, and coaching students how to be academically, socially, and emotionally well-rounded throughout the many developmental stages they each experience at the middle school level and through the many opportunities they have here. Our staff works hard each day to make sure this is a safe, welcoming environment that supports the many, diverse needs of our current students.

My greatest achievement comes not professionally, but personally, as I am the mother to three, beautiful children, Brayden, Nora, and Raya. Since my own children have started their educational journey, I have a new perspective, and I will work tirelessly to ensure each of your children are viewed from that same lens and will help each OMS Chieftain be respectful, responsible, safe, and healthy.

I am thankful to have the opportunity to work in such an amazing community, district, and building. I look forward to getting to know your family and to a great school year!
