Why did he kill her?
He was intoxicated and shot her. He said, "I suppose I killed her, but it was not premeditated."
When did he kill her?
On Thanksgiving evening, November 27, 1884, Milton shot his wife and killed her.

They had a 17-month-old named Thomas, Lucy who was 8, and Alice who was 4.
The case.
Milton said he had mental problems and they had all these doctors come in, but there wasn't enough evidence to prove he did. Milton was 58 years old when he was hanged. On Friday, July 24,1885, Milton was executed south of the county jail. After a lapse of twelve minutes, the body was cut down, placed in a coffin and conveyed to Potters' Field.
