In Tōtara we begin our day with a karakia, mihi of the daily student leader, and waiata/kanikani. The leader of the day takes the role asking each student "kei te pehea koe". Students respond in Te Reo Māori with how they are feeling. 

The intended outcome of our morning routine is that students will see, learn and experience respect for themselves and their peers, acknowledging that culture and identity contribute to the rich diversity of our classroom.
