Fill the basket of knowledge.
When you stop learning, you will stop growing. Becoming mature not only entails your age, but it should also speak highly of how much you have learned through the years. Seize every chance to learn. There are a lot of ways to learn and life is but a huge classroom.

Maths Workspace is leveled for students as much as possible, however we will find that students are proficient in some areas and not others, that is normal, practice is as beneficial as tackling new learning. Students are expected to complete assigned bookwork and complete tasks/evidence cards in their Maths Workspace.
Our Literacy Workspace is a Workspace focused on Reading and Writing creating specific links and learning between the two disciplines. Reading involves vocab exploration, comprehension, fluency and mileage, and to JUST READ A BOOK (Reading Partnerships). Writing is a multi-genre learning area that we use to communicate our academic learning, ideas, passions and inquiry with others.
Shared Reading and Visual Art is a combined Workspace where students can listen to read-aloud texts modeled by the teacher n pursue an art project at the same time. Students enjoy the books we share, the conversations and insights we develop can be amazing.
Inquiry is a Workspace where students explore different projects and learning that we have going on in class. This flows and changes as the students discover more about the world around them and is linked to other curriculum areas.
Technology for Year 7 and 8 is being provided at Oruaiti School. We aim to provide authentic learning opportunities for our Intermediate age tamariki that incorporate Soft Materials, Food Technology, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths) content.
