Reading at this level is all about learning to read, saying the sounds then sliding them together to read the words and not making up the story. You can practice by completing the home learning that can be found in the home learning book in book bags. You can alsa read and listen to stories online. Follow the different links below.

Writing independently at this level is hard to replicate at home, so your input is needed. It is all about creating a sentence or story, hearing the sounds to write and knowing the letters to use. You can cut up sentences, scribe the sentence and then your learner copies on top or underneath, talk about first sound/last sound when scribing and practicing handwriting or spelling.
