No tech? No problem!
Easy ways to practice maths at home without technology:
count things - toys, clothes, biscuits, leaves, anything!
cut up numbers to 10, 20 or 100 on paper and give to your learner to sort into order or play flashcards with.
add or subtract small groups of things together.
practice writing numbers - on paper, on the concrete in dirt or sand.
write some simple equations and work out what they mean and how to solve them.
read numbers around the house - look in books, the pantry, calendar, clock, mail or letterboxes.
bake something together and practice counting number of cups/spoons etc.
play card or board games together to practice counting and recognising numbers.
find shapes around the house - shapes you can see e.g. square window
give child a colour or shape or texture type to find and bring back - eg. blue square, something soft, something yellow.
