Welcome to the Occoquan River Maritime Association (ORMA). Established in the late 1990s, ORMA was founded to support and advance both recreational boating and commercial interests on the Occoquan River. Our primary mission is to promote marine safety and provide training for vessel operation on the river.

From the outset, ORMA has been dedicated to ensuring the maintenance of a safe and navigable channel, with strong support from local and federal agencies. Today, the ORMA committee remains committed to addressing safety concerns and responding to relevant issues along the waterway.

One of our key ongoing initiatives is the organization and execution of the annual Blessing of the Fleet, a cherished maritime tradition. This event serves recreational boaters and is supported by first responders, marinas, yacht clubs, and local businesses throughout our beautiful waterway.
