Athletic Conference
League Bylaws
Adopted June 12, 2025
I. Purpose of the Conference
a. To glorify Jesus as Lord and Savior and to develop Christian character through athletics.
b. General Purposes
i. To promote Christian fellowship and sportsmanship through extra-curricular athletic competition.
ii. To develop moral, ethical, spiritual, physical and team characteristics of the grade school student athlete.
iii. To unite area faith-based schools under one league.
iv. To consolidate the scheduling of games and meets between the conference schools.
v. To assist in the recruitment and availability of officials in all sports.
II. Membership
a. The conference shall consist of current members and any additions that are accepted by the Lakes Area Christian Schools (LACS) Athletic Conference.
b. Prospective members
i. Should be a faith-based school in or near Walworth County, Wisconsin.
ii. Shall apply to the league by January 1 for membership in the subsequent school year.
iii. Must receive an affirmative vote from the majority of the current member schools attending a regularly scheduled meeting.

III. Officers
a. Conference Commissioner
i. Shall be elected to a 2-year term by a majority of the members schools attending a regularly scheduled LACS Athletic Conference meeting.
ii. Shall arrange meeting facilities and preside at all conference meetings.
iii. Shall be the contact person for LACS Athletic Conference.
iv. Shall publish updated rules for all conference sports to all members schools reflecting changes made at all conference meetings.
v. Shall schedule all LACS Athletic Conference contests (those involving two member schools) in accordance with the conference’s Bylaws.
vi. Shall be responsible for the awarding of conference championship trophies.
vii. Shall be responsible for managing conference finances through the commissioner’s school.
viii. Shall keep a record of all incoming and outgoing LACS funds and provide a financial report at all conference meetings.
b. Members may establish other officers for the good of the conference.
IV. Sports
a. Fall Sports
i. Co-ed soccer – One level only for all grades.
ii. Girls Volleyball – “A” and “B” levels.
b. Winter Sports
i. Girls Basketball – “A” and “B” levels
ii. Boys Basketball – “A” and “B” levels.
c. Members may add other sports for the good of the conference.
V. Dues
a. Initial: $50 per school, payable by January 1 each year or a $10 late fee will be added.
b. Dues for the following year will be established by member schools at the summer meeting of the LACS athletic directors.
VI. Eligibility
a. Each school is sovereign in establishing academic eligibility standards.
b. Each participant is to be a member of the school, parish, or congregation he/she represents unless a member of the team in coordination with a school in partnership.
i. As possible, all schools who partner with other schools should announce this situation prior to the scheduling/calendar deadline.
ii. Such a partner school arrangement can be made with smaller Christian schools to guarantee team size or offer a school an opportunity to promote athletics in a school that
is too small to run its own program.
c. School boards must approve and report non-enrolled students who are members of their parish or congregation to be allowed to participate in the LACS Athletic Conference.
This must be done in writing to the conference commissioner prior to the start of that season. The commissioner will notify all other conference schools
d. The Lakes Area Christian Schools Athletic Conference affirms the Biblical understanding of two genders (Genesis 1:27). Athletes may only participate in the gender in which
they were created.
VII. Awards
a. The LACS will award a trophy to the first-place team for all A-team sports.
b. Placement is determined by all games played against teams in the LACS conference.
c. In the event two or more schools have identical records, multiple awards will be presented.
