Meet the Teacher
Welcome! My name is Mrs. Shepard and this is my third year teaching at Oriskany. I teach middle school science and AP Biology. I love being a teacher because I enjoy making a difference in students lives. This year I am the Junior class advisor. I am looking forward to another great school year!

Just a friendly reminder that this included the items in the classroom, students should not be drawing on desks, on my personal items, and breaking things that do not belong to you.
CHECK GOOGLE CLASSROOM REGURARLY
CELL PHONES- Should be put away during all instructional times, per the middle school cell phone policy students should not have their cell phone turned on with the exception of lunch and study halls

Grading Policy- Middle School
65% Summative- (Tests/Quizzes/Labs/ Projects)
** At the discretion of the teacher, any quiz or test receiving a failing grad MAY be allowed to correct or retake up to a 70% score. This will be on a case by case basis and the student will be required to schedule an appointment with the teacher (most likely after school). **
35% Formative- (Assignments/ In-class work/ Bellringers)-
Any homework is due upon the assigned date. Any late work may be penalized. *Students should be actively participating in class discussions and classwork*
Final Average: 85% of the 4 marking periods + 15% Final Exam or Project
The grading procedure is subject to updates, and continuous review based on student outcomes, and updates of learning standards.
