This will be my seventh year teaching at Glorietta . I've taught both 4th and 5th grade, but am so happy to be returning to 4th grade this year as it is special in both curriculum and social/emotional development. I know it is going to be an amazing adventure for all of us!
Prior to Glorietta, I taught 6th grade for four years at Madera Elementary in El Cerrito. Before that, I spent many years in corporate communications, public relations and journalism working for both international corporations and agencies.
I earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in journalism from Northwestern University (Go Cats!) and my teaching credential from Saint Mary's College of California. I also attended two summer Reader's & Writer's Workshop institutes at Columbia University. My oldest daughter graduated from Northwestern as well, and my youngest is starting at Oregon State this Fall. Both girls attended Sleepy Hollow, OIS and Miramonte.
I lived with my family for 20+ years in Orinda. These days, my husband and I live in Moraga. There's a good chance you will run into me at Moraga Country Club, SiSi's or the Moraga Farmer's Market. You might even catch a glimpse of my two Chihuahua rescues -- Carli and Benny as we go on our nightly walk.
