We started our esports journey at Villa Park High School in 2018. It all began with just a few students and no budget, but we quickly grew in popularity. We hit a roadblock in 2020 with the pandemic but still kept working virtually. In May of 2022, we held our first esports showdown to show our community the power and benefits of esports. Moving into the 2023 school year, we expanded to six middle and 27 elementary schools in the district. 

We are excited to continue to grow our esports program in the future. Esports can be a powerful tool for education and community building.
