Digital Photography Pathway is designed to educate and prepare students for a career in photography and a variety of digital arts.
Digital Photography curriculum explores the art form of photography by exploring light, color, composition, creativity and more. Students will master skills in camera usage and editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Students will come out of the Digital Photography Pathway with an online digital portfolio highlighting a variety of work completed in the courses.
Art of Digital Photography 1
This is a hands-on introduction to Digital Photography. Students explore basic elements of composition and principles of design including light, movement and color theory. Combining training in camera operation and image editing with artistic theory, students learn to creatively communicate their ideas through the art of photography.
Art of Digital Photography 2
Students use advanced software and photo skills for graphic and image manipulation to create commercial graphic products and aesthetic fine art images. The goal of this course is to develop advanced digital artists and photographers by teaching a variety of skills and outcomes.
Yearbook
The Yearbook and Digital Media class is a capstone class for students in the Design, Media and Visual Art career pathway, It is also an exciting opportunity for students to produce the yearbook for the school year. Students put their knowledge learned in photography and design to creating the yearbook. Responsibilities in the class include photography, writing, time management, budgeting, business management, and working with the yearbook publisher.
