Welcome to Dos palabras, the El Modena chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH). We operate as both an academic national honor society and an active campus club, bringing together advanced language learners who are passionate about the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures. Together, we work to promote cultural awareness on our campus, support our peers through tutoring, and serve our local ELMo and Orange communities.
To foster a vibrant campus community centered around a shared love for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures. As a student-led club, we are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive space where members can connect, engage in fun cultural activities, and actively raise funds to ensure all qualifying students can fully participate in our field trips and graduation celebrations.
To recognize academic excellence and promote meaningful service across our school and local communities. As an official chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH), we hold our members to high standards of leadership and integrity. We are committed to using our language skills to bridge communities, provide dedicated peer tutoring, and inspire global citizenship through purposeful cultural advocacy.
Our club and chapter are guided by five core principles that inspire our members to lead and serve:
Passion for Language: Cultivating a lifelong love for learning and speaking Spanish.
Cultural Pride: Embracing, honoring, and sharing the diverse traditions of the Spanish-speaking world.
Community Service: Using our unique language skills to support our school and local community.
Inclusivity & Unity: Creating a welcoming space where all cultures and backgrounds are respected.
Leadership & Growth: Empowering students to become confident global citizens and positive role models.
Through our fundraising efforts throughout the year, our club works hard to raise funds to support our members. These funds help cover the costs of chapter induction fees, official graduation regalia (such as stoles and tassels), field trips, and other club activities so that all qualifying students can participate!
Earn Service Hours: Members can easily complete their required community service hours right here by helping organize, set up, and run these.
