What is a major? A major is the course of study that you want to take when going to College. Most Colleges have everything under the sun when it comes to majors but selecting a major early on would be beneficial. Specific universities are known for specific majors. There are several scholarships that are for specific majors.
What happens if I don't have a major? Many students have no idea what they would like to major in. That is perfectly okay because the university/college provides you with the opportunity to explore majors through the first two years of college. The first two years consist of general education. Use the exploration websites to help you narrow your search. It is also totally okay to declare undecided/undeclared. Note that sometimes that major is impacted, check with the university.
