Pottery

My senior project is to learn how to throw pottery on a wheel. My only prior experience with clay is making pinch pots or sculptures and so I wanted to try a new technique. I've been interested in pottery for a long time because my grandmother did ceramics and her pieces are very special to my family. Even though I never met her, I feel like this is a way for me to connect. Pottery has also become a coping mechanism for me when I am stressed, and I have proven the therapeutic elements of art in my research paper, "The Benefits of Art Therapy." My product is a gallery of all my pieces -- the good, the bad, and the ugly. I focused on making mugs but also made cups, bowls, and vases.
