Ryan Ryll's Dirt Bike Maintenance Guide
Ryan Ryll's Dirt Bike Maintenance Guide
Riding dirt bikes with my little brother is something I really enjoy. Learning about 2-stroke versus 4-stroke engines is something I do on my own time, but I’ve never learned how to fix them. This is a passion or hobby that I think about all the time. I know a lot about operating dirt bikes, now I want to learn to fix them. Learning to perform maintenance on small engines could also be a side-job after graduation and even help me get a foot in the door at a garage as a mechanic. I’m sure that I’ll stay interested in this for at least 30-hours because it will help me care for my prized possession.
For my Senior Project, I plan to learn how to maintain my dirt-bike. I’ve chosen this as my topic because I’m really into dirt bikes and after graduation, I want to be a mechanic. I want to learn how to change the oil or filters, fix the brakes, change tires and spark plugs, headlights and more. Because I love riding dirt bikes and know a lot about them, now I want to learn how to maintain them. For my product, I plan to make a picture guide on dirt bike maintenance.
This project will involve a lot of new growth for me. I have to find a mentor, and get help to manage my time and keep me honest about my work. Doing the work might be hardest, just in terms of getting myself to work on the project when I am supposed to. But I know this is a challenge, which is a good sign.
Also, this project could really help me after graduation, because the experience and knowledge might help me to find work as a mechanic after graduation. Or maybe earn extra money working on other peoples’ dirt bikes.
