Dear Panel Members,
For my senior project I would like to make bread with home bakers. Making bread is an incredible life skill to have and it also is something that is relaxing and a good destresser. With the delicious product at the end. I am going to learn multiple different types of bread from sandwich bread, to baguettes, to sourdough, to even rolls. I'm very excited to work with my mentor and learn her recipes.
As many people probably already know, making bread is a long and arduous process. Making the dough, letting it rest, making it and letting it cool takes hours of time so fulfilling the 30-hour requirement should not be all that difficult with bread making. I have almost no knowledge of making bread. I bake and cook at home making bread has never been something I really have had the skill for so I'm excited to learn this new skill with my wonderful Mentor Shannon Knowles and a bit for my grandmother as well.
I've been interested in getting into new hobbies lately I've worked my way through a lot of art hobbies in the past from pottery, painting, drawing, even digital design however red making itself is also an art it'll be a good hobby to have into my adulthood it's something that I've seen relax many people even if it is a bit of a tedious process. Making bread has never been a strength of mine. I've only made it a few times and it turned out with less than desired results but with the guidance of my mentor and my grandmother I should be able to get some wonderful loaves out.
My mentor Shannon Knowles is amazing for many reasons however she is also an incredible Baker the bread making fever of the pandemic truly increase her skill and she has a vast knowledge of different types of bread and how to make them but Shannon won't be my only mentor my grandmother will also teach me how to make sandwich Loaves. Working with home bakers will be an incredible experience and hopefully I'll have delicious products for you to try at the end of the project.
After getting the recipes from my mentor and practicing them with her, I'll continue to practice them at home until I perfect my skills. This project I'll be able to work on all year long rain or shine. And because of the arduous nature of making bread it should very easily meet and exceed the 30 hours of work needed.
Sincerely,
Ayla G. Palmer Browne
