Unfocused

When taking pictures, a lot of things can go wrong. These pictures are clearly blurry and not in focus. I did not focus my camera because I either forgot, or was in a rush to try and snap the pictures. This has taught me that I need to get set up earlier to make sure I have time to focus and camera to not rush so much.

Lighting Adjustment Mishaps

In these pictures, the lighting adjustments on my camera were off. While you can still see what is going on in the photo, they are very dark. Since these photos were fairly in focus, they could have been great shots if my lighting was adjusted correctly. If I were to try too use a filter to brighten up the image, it would have brightened everything and not looked as natural.

Standstill

While I was normally taking pictures of people in motion, I also had some great opportunities for some more stand still photos of someone or a group of people within their sport. This is a great opportunity to kind of photograph behind the scenes of everything that happens that isn't necessarily the game.

Go-Kart Racing

I had the most opportunities to take pictures of go-kart racing, which allowed me to get some of the best pictures. I had the most chances and time to figure out what was working, and what wasn't, or what I needed to work on to make the pictures better. At the specific race track that I was photographing at, there was only one turn where my camera lens was able to reach to get pictures while keeping them in focus. This limited the amount of pictures I was able to get since they only came around this specific turn once every lap, but it forced me to take advantage of the opportunities when they came.

Soccer

As a soccer player, soccer is definitely one of my favorite sports to photograph, but it also is the most difficult for me. There are two things constantly in motion when it comes to soccer. Both the person (people) and ball are usually moving. This makes it tricky to get both the people and the ball in focus. Depending on which is closed to me, the person could be in focus and the ball could not, or the other way around. Also, there are normally a lot of people in the background of a lot of the pictures, so there is so many different things going on at once, making it difficult for the camera to focus on the main thing I am trying to photograph.

Lacrosse

Due to the timing of senior project, and when the lacrosse season is, I was only able to photograph one game, but I was definitely thankful for the opportunity. Lacrosse is similar to soccer when it comes to there being so many things happening at once. Luckily, the ball is small and is usually in someone's lacrosse stick, so you really only have to photograph the person who is moving. This lacrosse game was the last sporting event that I photographed and I can see the progress in the quality of pictures.

Baseball

I definitely had a hard time photographing baseball, and was only able to make one game. Due to the ball being hit in unknown directions each time, they have to make sure that people are far enough away from the batter, so that there isn't as big of a chance that someone will get hit with the ball. Unfortunately this made it so i could not get a big variety of pictures. My camera lens only reached to the batters box to get photos. Anything father away then that either wouldn't be in focus or it would be too zoomed out. This made it difficult to get a good variety of different pictures really capturing everything that goes on in baseball.
