For this class just about everyday there is a number corner lesson, each month that lesson changes. It's never the same thing every month. One month could be about time and the next is about fractions. In this video i taught a session of number corner in February.

Each student had to count each shape and then add them together to get the correct answer. I went around and helped out students when they needed help.

The students worked in groups of 2-3 to play a math based valentines game that included addition and subtraction. If they were done with the game they could color in a number by color heart or play the game again.

IMG_2472.MOVMy mentor Ms. Young had sent me a 'student self assessment and a 'shadowing assessment' to be filled out to see where my job shadow teacher and I agreed or disagreed on what I had to work on, what my challenges were and what my strengths were.
In filling out the 'self assessment' I thought it would be a nice change and use emojis instead of the usual 'x' or check mark.
