Throughout the marking period, we (Wisbendji, Mark, Roodman) were mainly focused on the research (Research paper on material selection, size of jaw, a survey from others to see the necessity of the creation of the mouthguard that have unique features being mouthpieces in the center front), and creation of the capstone project through the use of CAD (Computer Aid Design), and testing of different designs to see which one best to our criteria, constraints, and expectation.
From the left of here, is the design of the RMW mouthguard with the feature of the tongue pieces in the center front, which is there to give the tongue a chair to sit to position it to the roof of the mouthguard also known as the palate. The reason that the RMW mouthguard has triangle shapes is due to that it was imported from an STL file (Blender) to Onshape. In the process of designing the mouthguard in Onshape, there were difficulties in that changing one point of the sketch design made the mouthguard out of place. As a result, we have assistance from one of our classmates (Saviour) who has experience in using another software Blender. The tongue positioner which is in the color blue was designed using Onshape, as our team member Roodaman didn't have trouble with the design compared to the mouthguard.
