Explanation- The assignment was to create two faux journey entries based on two different articles. One article focused on the impact of climate change on animals, while the other article was on Mexico's journey to independence. It helped me to explore different areas of research and deepen my understanding of climate change's effects on animals as well as the historical context of Mexico's fight for independence. Through completing the assignment, I gained a deeper understanding of the impacts of climate change on animals and the historical significance of Mexico's independence. 

Reflection- Reflecting on the assignment above, which involved creating two faux journey entries based on articles about animals and climate change, as well as Mexico, it showed my strengths in creating fictional stories. The assignment allowed me to demonstrate my ability to write in an engaging and convincing way, making it seem as if these entries were real from actual past journeys. I enjoyed using my creative writing skills to write an interesting story. I specifically enjoyed and appreciated this assignment because it allowed me to blend my passion for writing with my interest in environmental and cultural issues. Climate change and its impact on animals and ecosystems are topics of immense significance worldwide.

Explanation- The assignment was to write a paper on any topic of my choice, and I chose to focus on the television show Riverdale. The objective of the assignment was to dig into the various aspects of the show and provide an analysis of its strengths and weaknesses. Through this, I learned a lot about people's opinions on Riverdale and realized that it is a show that has strong and diverse reactions. By conducting further research, I discovered the more critical aspects of the show that I didn’t see at first. This experience taught me the significance of digging deeper and exploring different viewpoints before forming a final understanding of a subject. 

Reflection- Reflecting on the assignment above, which was writing a paper on the show Riverdale, I found great enjoyment throughout writing the entire paper. This assignment allowed me to show my strengths in writing about a topic that I was genuinely interested in. Despite running into some challenges and moments of regret on the chosen side of the argument, I, at the end, delivered a paper that I felt proud of. This assignment connects to a big part of the world and community by referring to the influence of popular culture. Television shows like Riverdale have a big following and can start discussions and debates among viewers.

Explanation- Above is my mid-year essay assignment which was to track my progress in writing throughout the entire year. The specific topic we had to write about was mental health, a subject that I was already familiar with as a teenager in the 21st century, where the importance of mental health has thankfully increased compared to previous years. The objective of the assignment was to assess my growth as a writer and reflect on my strengths and areas for improvement. By focusing on the topic of mental health, I not only demonstrated my knowledge and understanding of this but also how my writing evolved in conveying sensitive topics.

While I appreciated being able to explore the topic of mental health, I did not enjoy the time limit on the assignment. The assignment allowed me to show what I’m good at and in this case it is the importance of mental health, an often overlooked and under-discussed topic. This assignment helped highlight the need for increased awareness, understanding, and recognition of mental health as a real part of everyone's health. Mental health is a global concern that affects people of all ages and backgrounds.

Explanation- The assignment was to create a poem, essay, piece of art, or a video addressing the cornerstones of democracy for Law Day. Specifically, we were asked to focus on voting rights and the Second Amendment. The objective of the assignment was to explore and express our thoughts on these topics, including the balance between access to the ballot and election security and the need for a legal framework to address security, safety, and individual gun rights.

Reflection- In completing the assignment for Law Day, I chose to express my thoughts through a poem that touched upon voting rights and the second amendment. While the assignment offered various creative options, I chose a poem because it seemed the easiest path to take. However, after finishing, I realized that it might not have been my best work. Looking back, I can say that the assignment required a large amount of work and effort. It challenged me to think critically about the complex issues at hand and find creative ways to express my thoughts. While the poem may not have been my best work, I appreciate the opportunity to engage with these important topics and explore the cornerstones of democracy that shape our society.

Explanation- The task for my assignment was to create a community outreach idea for which we chose a diet plan for our group project, which stemmed from our building a wheelchair scale from scratch. The objective of the assignment was to develop an effective diet plan for anyone to use but our target audience was wheelchair users. By focusing on the diet plan, we explored how nutrition plays an important role in supporting the physical and mental health of individuals with mobility limitations. Working on the community outreach part of the assignment, I gained an understanding of the importance of promoting awareness and providing resources to our community. Our diet plan aimed to educate individuals with disabilities as well as their caregivers to make informed decisions about their dietary choices. 

Reflection- Completing this assignment helped me showcase my strengths in developing a useful diet plan for anyone aiming to lose weight but the reason for us creating it is wheelchair users. I learned how specific dietary considerations can positively impact someone's overall health, including weight management, supporting muscle strength, preventing other health conditions, and promoting an overall happy well-being. It also reinforced the idea that some approaches to getting healthy do not work but it's up to the individual to find out what does and does not work for them.
