How to Apply
Admission into the Orange Engineering and Design Academy is open to all rising 9th-grade students in the Orange County School District. There are no minimum academic requirements for admission into the Orange Engineering and Design Academy. Applications will be accepted online for the Fall 2025 Freshman cohort until Sunday, February 28, 2021.
Admission Requirements
Students must reside in Orange County.
Students and parents/guardians must attend an official Zoom Information Meeting with the Orange Engineering and Design Academy Coordinator by Friday, February 26, 2021.
The student must complete the entire application.
The two letters of recommendation must be completed by current middle school teachers, and they must be submitted by Sunday, February 28, 2021.
Job Shadowing
Job Shadowing
Job Shadowing will be required during the sophomore or junior year and will provide students with real-world experience seeing engineering at work. Students will then share their experiences with their cohorts upon completion. More information to come about job shadowing!
Internships
Internships
As a member of the Orange Engineering and Design Academy, students will be required to complete a 135 hour internship. This internship will provide students with hands on experience in engineering. This internship will be completed at some point during the junior and senior years. More information to come about internships!
