The Orange Engineering and Design Academy (OEDA) is a 4 year program for any student in Orange County Schools (OCS) interested in pursuing careers in engineering. Students are placed in a grade level cohort, taking Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering and core subject classes together. Instruction in all classes focuses on interdisciplinary, problem based, experiential learning. Through their involvement with OEDA, students will be exposed to real-world applications of their knowledge and skills. They will have opportunities to explore career options in engineering through job shadowing and internships.
The program is rigorous and require students to demonstrate not just an understanding of key concepts, but be able to apply their understanding and create unique solutions to relevant contemporary problems. As such, coursework will be weighted according to North Carolina guidelines.

The student must currently live in the attendance zone for Orange High School.
The student and a parent or guardian must attend one official information visit.
